Im putting a turbo on my d16z6 sohc vtec and im wondering if the engine can handle it if i have the following-
stuff.
i just bought a t3t4 turbo and im putting it in my sohc vtec d16z6 civic ex 95 manual transmission.
i havnt put it in yet because im going to put in the following.
-aem high flow fuel rail
-hks 740cc fuel injectors
-and a boost controller.
so far i have full piping and skunk 2 cams, accel super stock spark plug wires and e3 spark plugs, cold air intake and fuel pump.
after im done installing the fuel rail and injector will my car be able to handle the turbo?
if yes at what psi should i set it to ( max psi)
and if it help my car only has 120,000 miles on it and engine is in good condition.
It's not going to last very long unless you get a real engine management system, and get it tuned by a professional. Seriously, you might as well just hold off on installing it until you have saved up enough $ to do it right; if money is an issue. Simply adding fuel like that will actually make your car run like crap, and you'll be lucky not to wash out your rings. Those injectors are way too much for any kind of power you'll make with a stock engine. Ignition timing is also an issue. If your timing is too far advanced at a certain RPM, you'll get detonation and destroy your engine. Engine management controls that. You can get away with simply bolting on intakes, exhausts, and headers, but forced inductions is a completely different thing. You can't just bolt on parts and expect it to work. Again seriously, don't do it unless you do it right.
