I realize they had a 4 speed, and one more thing if I where to use this automatic or their 4 speed in a motor conversion in a different type of car would the tail shaft bearing be strong enough to support connecting to a special made yoke and then to a aluminum drive shaft, then to a rear end suspended by radius arms and coils in the back of a late model ISUZU RODEO,? Both the mercedes car and the Isuzu rodeo weigh the same amount, but the tail shaft on the mercedes trans was never meant to supply power to a floating rear end set up, so if any of you out their undertand the engineered strength of that tailshaft please fill me in on the posibilitys of my idea working out and yes i plan to lower the final drive gear set because the little motor is very low HP, thanks for any and all info, have a good day.

There is a guy at Planet Isuzoo (an owner of at least three Isuzus, and two-or-more diesel 240 MBs) who has talked about doing the exact same engine swap.
As far as I know, he hasn't done so yet -- but he is intimately familiar with both vehicles, and I'm sure he could provide a great deal of useful information on the subject.
There are also quite a few *other* extremely helpful and knowledgeable people there... If 'two heads are better than one', then several dozen might just do the trick.
