I have a 1977 Honda CB550K that has been having some starting issues. Long story short I had some issues with the battery staying charged. Jumped it off the car, it would start up, i would ride it, and then it would be dead. Eventually it got to the point where the bike wouldn't even stay running, die after 3 minutes and not start again, dead battery. Id trickle charge the battery and it would do it again. Thinking I may of fried the voltage regulator or rectifier, I replaced them. Bike does the same thing. Then today I changed the spark plugs and drained the carb floats and now the bike wont even turn over. Help!
Did not replace the battery, its actually fairly new. Had Napa test it out too. Trickle charged it yesterday before I put the new rectifier and regulator on. Didnt do it today before the new plugs. I cant even get the bike to start when jumping it off the car today.
the starter works just fine, just cant get the engine to start
