Hot Shot Fogger HELP!!! Baby house safe?

I was wondering first, My 1 year old nephew's room is below mine would it still be safe to use in my room and not affect him. And would it safe to bring my rat back in later the night after I use it?
Ive found bugs in my room and bugs scare me no matter how little or big I get creeped out. So If this option isnt available then help with advice for a safe alternative.
Oh this is my bedroom too so my bed and clothes cant be coated it bug killer and I used this in my boyfriends room once and it had little or no effect on his stuff. But he didnt have a baby or rat in the house.

Can the bugs actually hurt you? I doubt it. Can introducing pesticide into your house designed to kill critters hurt you? Possibly. Why risk it?
However, assuming your house has one HVAC system, the pesticide could travel into the 1 yo's room, if not the entire house.
Bugs don't bother me at all, but why can't you just swat them with a shoe, magazine, etc.? How about vacuuming them up?
