Would the Body Parts on 91-95 Buick Park Avenue & LeSabre be interchangeable?
I need both rocker panels, grille, left fender, and right hood hinge. (preferably light blue but beggars can't be choosy). Could I use Lesabre parts for my Park Ave of the same yrs? I'm in chicago no one, not even the yards seem to have these parts w/out having to order online and charge a grip! Any suggestions??
My book collection "runs out" in 92 but to that point it says Electra leSabre Park Avenue all use "C" & "H" body (also Olds Delta 88, - 98 Royal , & Bonneville - Body starting in 1988--and through listing in 92
Cadilac falls under the same chapter with Deville and Fleetwood!
My book is a Chilton's, and leaves a bit to be desired as far as body information is concerned, but is pretty good on mechanical stuff, -- so I can't say which series body is Cadillac and which is Buick... However since the mechanical stuff is prety much the same, and basic maintainance is the same at least part of the bodies are the same! The different letter may be the "body length" - as olds 98 is longer than the 88!
The differece between cars usually is the "trim" and possibly setup with light "cavities" in front fenders, tail light shapes and small changes elsewhere to make them look different -- but the major body parts should look about same!
If you can't find anything in Chicago (where you have to worry about salt damage anyway), - get on internet, put in "auto salvage yards", and then some salt free state like Texas, Arizona, Montana - or someplace like that! I guess you could try St. louis or someplace where you could drive to and get back in a day! (or two),- nd Dubuque is a pretty big place or cedar rapids -- you can get there and back in a day -if (you push it!), - but if you don't want to drive that far, you are going to have to pay some kind of freight anyway! I now live in Texas and we have some of the nicest looking bodies sitting in junkyards that it would make you cry! You just have to stay about 150 miles form the coast, - most people don't go there often enough,- and are bright enough not to drive in the surf!
I saw and drove in enough salt to last me for a lifetime (in 22 years)!! Sorry, but I don't feel envious of your snowfall this year either!--- I lived through 59 & 79 storms there!
