how much HP will my SBC 350 be about?
i have a 86 sbc350 that has been bored out .30 and it has the stock heads on it with a mild cam (not sure exact specs on it),MSD ignition dist. high performance wires intake a holley 650 double pump carb wit a high rise holley intake manifold, i might be putting on a set of headers with it but i am looking for an est. of horse power if some one has a good idea
You are going to have to do some tuning. Holley carbs out of the box are ANYTHING but a one carb fits all/suits all. It will need to be re-jetted for your application. Base choices on spark plug readings around the base ring. You'll likely also have to change power valves as well as accelerator pump squirters in order to tune the carb around your specific engine. Let spark plug readings tell you what the engine wants in that regard.
You will also be well served with a heat insulating 4 hole carb spacer that is one inch thick. 4 hole spacers enhance street manners and open spacers hurt them accept at high RPM.
You are going to be VERY hard pressed to make 400HP. At least with a mild Hydraulic cam and stock low compression heads. Realistic will be around 325, and 350 on the high side. Earlier stock heads do not like net valve lifts over .525 according to the flow bench, which would be a pretty hefty flat tappet hydraulic cam.
For a Hydraulic cam, choose a cam that keeps net lift around .450 which will help keep velocity high around the valve head for good fuel atomization which is crucial for power and mileage as well as helps minimize spark advance requirements.
