need mod ideas for my 96 civic ex, please help. I need a lot of answers on this one.?
I have a silver 96 civic, trying to put it to its full potential, slowly though, im not rich haha.
its got a SOHC d16y8, yes am aware this is a small motor but i cant afford a swap right now or any time in the near future.
Here are the mods i already have
-K&N cold air intake
-option racing ignition wires
-megan racing strut tower bar
-dc sports headers
-dc sports cat back system with carbon fiber muffler
-skunk2 coil overs
-16" kong wheels
that's about all i can think of, there isn't anything else done to it that would effect the performance of it.
So if anyone has any ideas about what i could do to make it lighter and faster, and have more torque let me know. Thanks!
NOTE: I only have about 150 dollars that i can spend on it right now so try to stay in that price range, thanks
$150 isn't gonna get you anywhere with a Civic performance wise, doesn't matter what engine is in it.
You've reached the point where everything starts getting expensive. I'd put that $150 in a savings and let it climb or you can invest in a good old tune-up.
Next your gonna be looking at expensive things like a throttle body, intake manifold, brakes, camshaft, stronger valve-train, cam gear, cylinder head port & polish, block rebuilding, bigger valves, lighter flywheel, better clutch, etc....
Start looking through websites like these and building a wish list. Having a HP goal also helps give you an idea of what you need.

And research!

And for the love of what little dignity Honda has been left with, please stay away from cheap eBay "performance" mods.
