Cell Can Container

Cell Can Container
What is the correct way to dispose of this laboratory waste?

I'm going to be culturing mouse myoblast cells and wondered what the correct way of disposing of unwanted liquid culture media and cells is?

I know that any contaminated disposable items I use need to be put in autoclave bags, autoclaved and incinerated but not sure about the liquids?

- do they get put into a container with some Virkon - then what?

also what about things like ethanol?

Any help at all would be great. I've searched on the net but can't find anything specific.

thankyou :)

yes thats the right idea. autoclave and burn that bad boy. if its not a huge amount of Et-OH then you should be OK. the Et-OH will evaporate if its a small amout, but can be explosive in large amounts. If your not sure if there is enough consult with some one who is in your chemical hygiene department.
