My 2005 Super Duty with 14K miles had the upper hose that is attached with a hose clamp that says tourque to 9 pounds. I loosened the clamp slid the hose back on and drove easy. IT is still on. Is there a factory fix or aftermarket solution? I am going to remove it and clean it up and put a line of silicone to help . I heard from some others they have heard of this happening on heavy loads (it was a 4 horse trailer on a big hill)
I am not familiar with what came off to check with the dealer, but I need this fixed permatly for my next tow. The turbo boost is under20 most times
What really blew me away was how much of a dog the truck was without the hose on. I could not go over 50 with the pedal to the floor. The motor was at 3000 RPM and would not shift till I let up on the gas then it would shift and start slowing down.
I did hear that Ford has a TSB on this problem and a new clamp was designed, a call to the dealer could not confirm it.
The clamp probably was never torqued properly. I hit 30+ psi of boost in my '04 6.0L and I haven't had any issues with my charged intake lines.
Crank that puppy on there, I bet it was loose. I doubt heat made a difference and caused it to pop off.
