Ok so heres everything i know.
its a 94 honda del sol vtec.
the problem is the check engine light is on.
what happens is it sounds sort of like a subaru wrx sti exhaust at idle (the closest i can think of comparing.)
then when i rev it and hold it steady, the throttle cuts out for a split second at a time.
The best way would just be to go to an Autozone/Pepboys/Whatever and borrow their OBD scanner. They will lend it to you for free (with just a driver's license or credit card to hold).
Plug it in and it will scan to tell you what code's your throwing.
It sound's like you might have an air leak somewhere on your intake though (a pretty wild guess considering the amount of information you've given lol).. Perhaps the MAF sensor or whatever your car has.
I mean the throttle "cutting out" could be anything really.. if your car isn't pulling enough oxygen to combust with the fuel it could cause it.. also not enough fuel getting to your engine could cause that (faulty fuel line).. it could possibly be a fuel pump issue too.. Basically it could be anything -_- Just do what I recommended though...get the scanner and find exactly what CEL you're throwing.
