What do I do about damage to my car during repossession, towed by rear while in gear, causing engine to lock?
My car was repossessed, totally my fault. I was one month late and when I gave lender info for draw, gave the wrong acct. However, it was cleared up in 20 minutes and before my car had been towed 2 miles. In fact I met them down the street and gave them the key. When I arrived, I found that they had my front wheel drive car by the rear wheels, dragging the front tires while my car was in gear. I measured the distance from my driveway to where they stopped at 1.5 miles. My car was in first with the hand brake engaged the entire time. Now my engine is locked and BMW says that the engine will have to be replaced. What do I do now?
call your insuarce and have them sue the tow company if your makeing payment you have to have full coverage insuarance and they will do it for you and may cut you a check in the mean time
