6.0 liter is eating injectors?
We have a 03 6.0L F350 Powerstroke. We know it has been in the past the "problematic" of all the powerstrokes. We had a slide off at 70mph this winter and it shifted our titan fuel tank which caused the sending unit/fuel pump to pump air and ruin our injectors. Since the slide off we have replaced the tank, sending unit/pump, turbo, icp, egr delete kit....the worst of it is we had to replace injectors 1 and 3 first, then 1, 3, and 7...then 5 went out. Now 5 is out again. We travel nationwide and need this truck to tow our rv (which is our home) apparently something underlying is *causing* the injectors to go out. Anyone have any suggestions? This truck is eating injectors like crazy, and no we aren't in a position to get a new truck at the moment.
This is a Diesel engine and the fuel filters have been changed with the additive added, and also has current codes installed.
If your truck is out of warranty take it to a reputable diesel shop have them put a set of dyno-mite injectors in they seem to hold up better than ford ones. Other than that make sure you have the right oil and good filters for both fuel and oil. I have an 06 with 170k on I think all the injectors were replaced only once over the time I had it we also have another one with 160k on that one is the same we have very few issues. Both are egr blocked one has edge tune the other has power hungry tune both for econ and towing. Using only Ford filters and Conklin synthetic 15w40 oil. Each injector has a tiny little screen inside where the oil passes thru, if the oil is dirty it will clog the screen causing malfunction. Also check the FCIM module it could possibly be giving false readings
