exhaust question?installed headers.............?
istalled some headers, now seems am having issues with"pressure"build up when driving..its like i take off and it has a hard time at first but after it pushes out the fumes its going good.i only have one catilyic converter and one muffler...would the issue go away if i did both exhaust systems straight back?(each system with its own muffler and converter?)thanks.......................
A separate pipe to the rear for each header should alleviate your problem. By installing headers you have reduced the back pressure getting the exhaust gasses out of the engine but it seems the increased flow is getting backed up by having to make its way through the restriction of a single converter and single muffler. Your trying to get it out fast. The less restriction the better. The best? No muffler or converters but unless you stick strictly to track racing, we know that is not going to happen.
The reason you feel the increase in power after you get going is because the faster the engine is turning, the easier it is to expell the gas. With your set up, headers but single exhaust to the back, you have increased performance at high speed at the expense of performance and efficiency from a stop position. With duel exhast you will pick up both some high speed performance and a lot of acceleration performance and efficiency.
