Have you thought about High school teaching?
i was like you with very similar skills, and i have been teaching in a large high school for 9 years now. I love the teens. The students we get are really keen to learn your skills. We teach Mechanical engineering, automotive, Electronics, joinery, Product design and graphics (CAD) but you will pick up what you lack in skills as you teach.
In New Zealand you will go to school and do a diploma in technology and do some practicums in schools.
