should i fix my 91 laser or replace her?
i have a 91 Plymouth laser with an 4g37 and over 200k miles. needs a new head, front rotors, starter, exhaust and has transmission problems. so my question is with my tax return should i fix her up seeing how she is kinda a rare car. and drop a 7 bolt 4g63 and transmission in her. but it would still have the exhaust and the rotor prob. or should i just look for a nother car. i really don't want a civic its just not me don't look me u know. don't want a v8 that sucks down gas ether. i want a car that
A. out performs a 95 talon
B. does not cost an arm and a leg to buy performance parts...i work at subway and go to school full time dont have mouch money.
C. can find used for about 3000$
D. handleing is key
repairing this car will drain you of all your cash and it still will continue to break down on you(high mileage). They were great little cars in their time, (i had one too), but it is time to move on to a newer model. There are so many newer models to choose from and it all comes down to car preference and your taste in cars. Start looking at the model car that catches your eye, do a few test drives so you can feel the pep and the handling. There are a lot of 4 cylinders that have decent acceleration. I drove a 4 cylinder Chevy Cobalt the other day and was amazed at the pep of the 4 cyl ecotec engine. Again, buy what you like, not what this forumn tells you to buy like the VW with turbo, there is so much more to break down on you and very costly to repair as well.
good luck with the search..........
