97 toyota corolla just quit running out of no where...?
My husband has a 97 corolla, that just quit running out of no where. The car has no fire. The coil was checked, replaced the ignition control module, and still nothing. A previous question i posted someone said to check the crank positioning sensor, however someone else told him if the crank positioning sensor was bad then the fuel pump wont work. The car is getting good fuel to the fuel rail. I am having a really hard time finding any info about this C.P.S. We can't afford another $80 if it isn't the CPS. The car has been down for about a month now and this sharing a car is starting to be a real problem for us and our jobs. Any suggestions would be great! Really confused???
No spark? First check power and ground to the coil you should get a flash flash flash on the test light at the coil.Im not positive that that has a crank pos. sensor. It might have a pickup coil in the distributor. If it doesn't have a distributor then its its got a crank possition sensor. If it has a distributor probably get a rebuilt distributor. If you can get your hands on a manual there's a series of tests to go through to determine the exact problem. You need the book. And a digital ohmeter to tell exactly whats wrong.
