so i bought a 92 mk2 golf gti. love the car but when i drive it feels like im driving a go-cart or something. Roads seem really bumpy. The car is lowered and i think when the prvious owner lowered the vehicle he just cut the springs instead of buying new ones. So if i am to make my ride a little smoother how would i go about doing that. And if im wrong what could be causing the car to be so bumpy when i drive? all answers thanks tons..

Yeah if they did it the cheap way then they just cut the old spring. They may not have put in the right strut when they chopped it. When you lower a car, it changes the ride and the cars ability to absorb bumps. It sounds like a strut problem, they could be bad. its also possible you are bottoming out in your suspension somewhere. I would suggest to buy an aftermarket lowered spring and strut part already put together. Theres a good chance your ride will get alot better. Best of luck my friend!
