Answer this if you have a Grand Prix GTP Buick regal GS or bonneville SSEI?
I want to know if you need the screen that goes in front of the throttle body on the supercharged 3800 SERIES 2 engines. Is it some kind or restrictive screen or some thing to prevent large particles from entering the engine?
When i rebuilt mine, it had no screen. i asked another mechanic who told me it was Simply a protective screen to stop crap entering the engine. the previous owner had removed it when fitting a custom intake and the engine has had no problems, except for a shagged big end bearing, which was the result of high revving. if you have the screen chuck it on, better to be safe than sorry.
