Help with physics friction problem?
A hockey puck is hit across an ice rink at 12.0 m/s. Around 5.00 seconds later, the speed of the puck is 6.00 m/s.
What is its acceleration?
What is the coefficient of kinetic friction between the puck and the ice?
How far does the puck travel during the 5.00 second time interval?
Thanks!
With all your givens, you would just plug them into V2=V1+AT to get acceleration.
6=12+5A
A=-1.2m/s
I'm not sure about the coefficient one, sorry
Are you sure mass wasn't given?
Plug it into d=VI*T + 1/2AT^2,,
d=6(5)+1/2(-1.2)(5)^2
d=15m
Hope that helps, sorry again about the second one!
