You need to get something that you can afford...as far as maintence, gas, insurance, .....Don't be in a rush to get something out of your reach. My first car was a small toyota corolla .I 'm 34 years old got my DL at 16 just as you did. And since I'm the one who had to keep up the maintence on it..I had to say in budget. ....Don't have a champange taste on a beer budget...( if you get my meaning). Just spend what you can afford. ...that what I did ....in the end I got what I wanted...I drive a Chevy Tahoe....and love it...but you got plenty of time to get what you want...And to be honest you don't want to know what I spend on gas on my SUV...and think about that ...gas and insurance on SUV...and sport cars before you buy..and since you are younger your insurance will cost alot more...Good Luck
