I have a 351 cubic inch ford windsor motor in my boat @ around 2000rpm oil begins to come out of dip stick hole around 2 litres of oil in bottom of boat in approx 10 min.i just replaced the rings thinking i had solved this problem ,but it seems the problem lies elsewhere,any ideas much appreciated thankyou.
Madmav is almost correct, except it's PCV.
As he asked, is there a lot of pressure in the engine if you remove the oil cap?
One of the rocker covers should have a hole it it with a PCV valve in it, with a hose connecting that to the intake manifold.
Did you replace the compression rings too? Has this been a problem since the motor was rebuilt? I ask because if the compression rings are upside down, they will cause quite a bit of pressure to build up in the engine.
It really wouldn't take too much pressure to force oil up and out the tube. This wouldn't be caused by the oil pump either. It is definitely being caused by air pressure build up in the crankcase.
