How much to repair 1994 Oldsmobile 88 lower intake manifold gasket and valve cover gasket?
I was told that my car is leaking antifreeze and the shop quoted me a price of $580. 00. for about five to six hours of labor. Is this reasonable?
Thanks everyone for your response. I called a shop and was qouted $480.00. I'll keep calling around to see if I can get it cheaper or else I'll have to go with them.
yup,it's a 6 hr job-I've personally done this repair about 10 times at my shop- very common on gm v6 engines. make sure the tech is experienced with this repair procedure-it can haunt you if not done right the first time.make note of how the car runs and remember it in case they say "it was misfiring when it came in"-I have had to redo a couple from other shops because they did------wrong( sorry have to have job security). don't let them keep it half finished for more than one night-should be finished the same day if started in am.good luck
