How can my friend and I get out of a reckless driving - racing ticket?
He was driving my car and I was driving his. Both cars are 5 speed. We were lined beside eachother at a red light. We decided to race to the speed limit "35". We both pull out "spinning our tires". Not knowing a cop was right behind us. He pulled us both over and gave us both the same ticket. I asked the cop what he had clocked us at and he replied "I didnt get the speeds of either of you but it wasnt high." He said he gave us a ticket for spinning our tires from and idle standstill "reckless driving." How can my friend and I get out of this ticket???????
Any input is good input so please help. What my friend and I are thinking about doing is to go the court date set by the cop and tell our side... if we are charged we are thinking about appealing the ticket and coming back with a lawyer... Good or Bad Idea.... Please help
Get an attorney. He can probably plead you down to "making an unsafe start".
