I have a problem with my car. It vibrates when I'm on the highway and can feel something grinding when I'm on the streets but not that noticeable. I was told I needed my lower control arms and sway bar links replaced because the rubber part was worn out. Can this be correct. How can worn out rubber parts cause this part to start grinding? Is there an inner wheel bearing that's inside the transmission? Vibrating/grinding is on my front left side, under the pedals. 00 ford contour SE front wheel drive.
Worn sway bar bushings will cause thumping when going over bumps and in turns. Same with worn bushings in the lower control arms. Worn bushings will NOT cause grinding.
