Tell me how I would like Manual Rack & Pinion on a 1967 Mustang as opposed to factory power steering?
I am looking at TCP Manual rack. Has anyone driven an Early Mustang with manual rack? Do you think I will be pleased with this unit? Thanks
My experience - it's a lot easier to steer than a non-powered factory box, but it doesn't compare with the ease of turning at low speeds when compared to the factory power steering assist.
I have no idea if you would be pleased with the unit or not - it definitely provides a tighter, more precise steering feel and is a lot more reliable than the factory power assist units, but in low speed maneuvering such as in a parking lot or parallel parking (ugh) - it takes considerably more effort to maneuver.
