How do you get the bushings off of the steering rack in a 94 mustang?
My husband has been working all weekend trying to replace the bushings. The long bolt that goes through them is stuck and he can get it out. At first he tried to unscrew the bolt and then he tried hammering it out. Nothing has worked the bolt won't budge. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. My husband is driving me crazy.
Does the bolt unscrew or pull straight out?
There's oil all over the place and he's worried if he heats it up then he'll catch the car on fire... so what is a safe temperature to stay under to avoid this?
He's tried using a cheater bar.
best thing to do is use a breaker bar this is a long bar that you attach to the end of your wrench. unfortunately there is probabley not much room under the car to use it. also soak that b1tch with WD40, I am sure he already did this.
