okay, my husband put a quart and a half in, which put it at full. 2 days later, he put in the other half, and still needed more. no puddles anywhere. then the next day..... I start the van (yes, it started)I got a kinda shaky, vibration and noise (which is not normal) check engine light was on. I put it into drive and then it died and absolutely NO oil pressure. It will start, it dies right after it starts though...anyone have any idea what it could be?
okay...I checked out the van, and this is what I observed...
the dipstic has oil on it, plenty, I wouild say, no milky white stuff on it. Been sitting for 3 days and there is no puddle of oil or anything, however the oil filter has oil on it, like its been dripping off of it. ( we are probably due for an oil change, we do change the oil fairly regularly)

Rose, I would love to know what the noise sounded like, it would likely make this question a snap to answer. 150,000 miles is high enough to have a bunch of carbon get washed into the oil pan and block the sump screen on your oil pump. If your van really has no oil pressure then do not attempt to operate the van as it will do even more damage to the engine. I would tow the van in and have it looked at, it may be over for the van already but if you operate the van it will be all over without oil pressure. Good luck Rose I hope the engine is OK.
