How can I make sure this is a 1998 WS6 and not a regular Trans Am?
Hello, I picked up a 1998 Trans Am and supposedly it is a 1998 WS6. I want to make sure it is a real one so this is what it looks like:
Has the Ram Air appearance, WS6 decal in the back, Ram Air Induction labels on the hood. I think right where the air box is there is a yellow sticker that says something like Pontiac on a yellow sticker on the LS1. It has Corvette black rims. It has race like stripes on the hood and back. The car is black and the stripes are like a whitish black. It is a convertible. The word Trans Am is not on the car at all, not even the sides. The lights pop out. The exhaust is not a really a true duals, it looks like a single in and dual out. The tips have 2 each so there are 4 tips.
Also it is an automatic, but the gear shifter looks like a manual in that boot like cover. Was this an option or is this aftermarket? Also what about the wheels? And is it normal for Trans Am not to appear on the sides of the car.
Does this sound like a WS6 or even a 1998?
it sounds like a WS6, most(if not all of them) had the Ram Air decals on the hood cowls with the 60's-style lettering. a lot of WS6's didn't have the T/A decals either, but not all. all 90's Firebirds had pop-up headlights, and all the automatic versions had the shift-boot that vaguely resembles a manual shifter, it's a factory option. it definitely sounds like a '98 WS6, but i'm not an expert.
