How dangerous is Nitrous Oxide for my car?
I have a 1997 Plymouth Breeze (5 speed manual). I would like to hook up NOS for the hot rodding in me. It has 148,000 miles on the engine. Is an older engine susceptible to damage from NOS?
Look into some different nitrous companies. I would not recommend using nitrous on a Breeze, but I think you could use a small shot without much trouble. The car isn't worth the expense, but that's my opinion. Yes, the older an engine is, the more likely it is to become damaged. Using nitrous increases the pressure inside the cylinder. Nitrous nowadays is pretty reliable with a good kit that is properly installed. Engines blow up when nitrous is not applied properly.
