I changed brake pads at Midas because of squeaking, now pedal goes way in when I brake....master cylinder?
I have a 2002 Honda Accord LX V6 with ABS. After Midas changed the brake pads, the pedal didn't quite feel the same. They bled the brakes, checked for leaks, and told me both were fine. They said it's most likely the master cylinder. But it was perfectly fine right before they installed the new brake pads. Right after they changed the brake pads, the pedal started going way in. Is this pure coincidence?
I bet rat396 has it right. It is possible that the brakes just weren't bled correctly, but since that was subsequently checked - probably the techs screwed it up. Midas should make this good it you escalate it far enough - I hope the techs learn how to do this right for future customers!
