A MECHANIC FORGOT TO TIGHTEN THE CAP AND THE CAR RAN WITHOUT OIL. THE PROBLEM I NOW FACE IS SOMEHOW PRESSURE IS BUILDING WITHIN THE ENGINE AND FORCING RADIATOR FLUID INTO THE OVERFLOW CONTAINER. THE PERFORMANCE IS GOOD AND I HAVENT HEARD ANY NOISES FROM THE ENGINE IT GETS UP TO SPEED IN NO TIME. MY CAR IS A 2002 TOYOTA CAMRY SE. PLEASE TELL ME WHAT ENGINE DAMAGE I SHOULD EXPECT FROM THIS??? ok hold the phone i see a list of nonsense. the oil cap does not hold oil in nor does it aide in pressurizing the oil through the system. you could have a minor mess from the small amount that blew pout of the hole, but aside form that nothing long term should be there. if you are talking about a radiator cap, that is a slightly different story. the lack of pressure on the coolant will allow that coolant to boil at a lower temperature than you would desire. ever pound of pressure exerted on the anti freeze raises the boiling point 3 degrees (f) pressure should develop on the radiator, that is the very nature of a closed system. as water gets hot it expands, and as i said before the pressure is desired.
