Car feels sluggish after running a while... any ideas what it might be and HOW TO FIX IT?
I recently got a catback exhaust with straight pipe and a short ram air intake. Also it's a V6 and has a CEL because of no cat and is running rich(which could be the problem). I am soon getting new Taylor Spark Plug Wires and going to put fuel injection cleaner to see if that solves the sluggish problem. Any other ideas?
Also i used higher octane fuel one time and went back to regular if that might of caused a problem.
You said its running rich. That's your problem. You might want to check your timing and tune the engine to maximize burn. The cause for it being too rich might be the wrong air filter or injection timing. If you have a short ram air intake make sure you're using the correct filter for this application. An OEM filter cannot deliver sufficient amount of air for this purpose. And double check all the clamps throughout the intake to ensure no air is leaking past the intake.
Another issue to look at is, have you lost back pressure due to the exhaust upgrade. You might have to get a smaller exhaust to help you with this issue.
