just wanted to know if the 2000 plymouth neon would win in a race with a 1995 eclipse rs...the neon has aftermarket converters and an aftermarket exhaust muffler(just the tip peace not full aftermarket exhaust) with new spark plugs and a new transmission..the eclipse has aftermarket converters..aftermarket exhaust muffler(just the tip peace not full aftermarket exhaust) and cold air intake and soon will have new spar plugs and new spark plug wires but on x-mas i guess the eclipse will have a full exhaust
be a drivers race. 8 hp isnt going to make a difference. your eclipse is lighter, so you have the edge. but its still a drivers race.
and when you say just the tip peace? do you mean a muffler? or just a chrome tip? a muffler will give you maybe 1-2 more horse and torque on the top end. but a tip wont do nothing. may change the exhaust note by a tiny bit.
you race, shift out at your peak power ( 6000 rpms ) but do a demo run on a straight and see if your ride struggles after 5000 rpms.
i had a 00 rs eclipse 145 hp and 145 tq, took exactly 2 gears at 8000 rpms to hit 30 mph, but had power all the way to redline ( not much though haha ) but the eclipse does have a decent top speed for a slow 4 banger.
but you didnt say if both was stick or automatic, either way though its a drivers race.
