Can a 3.0 ltr Toyota D4d ECU be used on Toyota 2.5ltr??? What is required?
itis still me with my un solved problem since August last year. For those who never heard my problems:
1) My 2007 Toyota hilux D4d produced an engine light at speeds below 2000rpm then cuts off revs--I could still start no problems
2) Black smoke and knocking sound produced--Hard startin
3)Now can start with the key but push still black smock
4)Changed pump, injectors, common rail pressure sensor and pressure regulator
5)Now they think i need a new ecu
Please help
I believe the clue is in 'they think you need a new ecu'. I fear this garage sees you as a source of steady income. I hope at least it is a Toyota dealership. At least they should know what they are doing. I doubt very much that a 3.0 litre ECU will suit a 2.5 unless it can be programmed to match the original.
I would be questioning the competence of the garage as they have apparently got it wrong with the work so far. Where will it end? When you have run out of money I imagine.
