bypass lawnmower safety switch?
I have a Poulan Pro riding lawnmower. The clutch/brake safety switch came out of its mounting hole, and when I pushed down on the pedal I smashed it. I tried to repair it but its trashed. So I cut the wires to the switch, now I have 4 exposed wires (2 white, 1 gray and 1 black) Is there any way to hardwire those wires?? I jumped the solenoid and it turns, but without those wires completing the circuit, the fuel pump wont work.
BTW, i know its not safe to bypass a safety switch, so save your time if you're gonna tell me not to.
usually any hardwired safety switch is "normally closed" (one or more poles). when switch is activated, it opens poles and cuts power to the circuit. i bet that your case fits the description but i cannot tell you anything about product or wire colors. if you have multimeter, you can check the wires to determine supply, remaining two are likely the circuit (should be able to check with meter configured for continuity).
