does anyone make a coil-over suspension for an older (84' chevy c-10) lowered truck?
im looking for a coil-over race style suspension for my lowered 84' chevy c-10. the truck is said to have a 3/5 drop on it but i think its more like a 4/6. im looking for a good suspension that will stiffen the front since the shop pulled out my shims w/o asking me first. it already has struts and sways so now im looking to stiffen the suspension. if you have any other ideas, im all ears. thanks for your help.
p.s. if you give me a shop to call, please give me a way to contact them. (web page, phone number, email address) i may not be in the same state the shop is. thanks again.
K,
I couldn't remember what type of suspension was in a 84 c-10 so I dug around, what it looks like is that the front has the typical a-arm coil suspension up front and a leaf spring ride in the back Now if you think you have a 4/6 lowering kit in the truck then more than likely the frame over the rear end would be channeled, if not then you have a 3/5. Now as far as this shim thing I have no idea what you are talking about, the only shims up front would be the alignment shims for the upper a-arm's
And if you have a DJM lowering kit on the truck then it has the factory ride ( I used to sale DJM stuff ) If you want more stiff you can go a few different routes, one get custom coil springs up front and thicker rear leafs in the back, but very pricey, Or get bigger diameter sway bars, from like Hellwig or bell tech. And also a heavily dampened shock, like a KYB or Bilstien
