dream interpretation please?
I had the weirdest dreams last night!! In one of them I was in a beautiful new building with this yet to be invented high tech elevator that looked more like a high thrill ride at the fair. You had to be strapped in because there were over 300 floors and it would drop with alarming speed. In the dream I was flipping and dropping in this elevator and had a hard time getting out of the building because there was an elevator to floor 34 and then you had to go down a shoot to get to the next elevator. The elevator also rotated in case you were in the wrong wing or side of the building, spinning like a ferris wheel. I was trying to get out because a shooter was on the loose in the building. I almost fell out of the elevator on the side of the building because I was not strong enough to hold on to the rails as in fell to the bottom,, what does this dream mean?
Wow, new technology and the fast-paced speed at which technology and world events happens is quite breathtaking and intimidating when you stop to think about it. So much information out there in the world and on the internet can get out of control so easily and can really overwhelm anybody, especially comibined with terrifying disasters, accidents, and horrific crimes happening to other people. Even being in a controlled environment such as work or school can be violated by a crazy person taking their unhappiness out on co-workers or school mates in the form of a terror attack.
There are so many things you can do to ease your fears of the world and technology being out of control and frightening. The key lies in the idea that the elevator would go haywire if you made a wrong choice. It is so easy to make a wrong choice anyway without fear of retribution somehow.
The real answer is to get off that elevator in the first place. You are right, our reliance on current technology and dependence on computers for everything is not really a great thing but can be an evil in disguise - my husband almost didn't get his paycheck last week when the computer system at his work went down, they had to write out a physical check by hand because even the basic computer had a virus! So instead of letting technology control your life, take control of technology. Reduce your dependency on technology by reducing your time online to checking e-mail and current accounts. Go back to reading a paper newspaper instead of reading everything online. Take the stairs instead of the elevator more often (wink wink). Learn to cook and prepare your own food instead of eating out all the time. Learn to go camping and how to take care of yourself without electricity. Give yourself tools and alternate plans in case of emergency. Let it be okay to take the scenic route when the shortest distance between 2 points is under construction. Quit yelling and screaming at people ahead of you in line and try bringing a physical book made of paper with you to read when the line is long and out the door. Give yourself plenty of alternatives in your choices instead of only going with choice A every time. What was so terrible about taking the stairs in your dream? By taking more control in your waking life, your dreams will change.
