i got a 04 monte ss with a supcharged 3800 series 2 engine i got an after market intake but i was watching videos about makeing a home made ram air intake so i was wondering if it would add horsepower and be fine with my supercharger??? please help im 16 and dont know much..
then my suggestion is take it to your mechanic, tell him exactly what you want, and do what he tells you to do. ANYTHING YOU DO, THAT MAKES THAT ENGINE WORK HARDER, MEANS IT IS GOING TO BLOW UP SOONER. race car drivers have their cars tuned a specific way, for a specific race, you can get more power out of something, but it may only last a 200 mile race. On the other hand if you step down the power, you can get the engine to last a 500 mile race it will be slower, but it lasts twice as long.
You have a high performance car, it is engineered to run a specific way, by checking with your mechanic you can find out the right way, and do it right, you want to experiment with a 10,000 dollar turbo charged engine by yourself??? be my guest, but honestly if it were my expensive motor, I would do a lot of research first and make sure a real mechanic agreed first. best of luck
