Sbc Clutch Engine

Sbc Clutch Engine
My water pump from oreillys came apart and messed up other engine parts what will they replace?

old sbc v8 water pump from oreilly's came apart and the fan ate up my serpentine belt, power steering pump pulley, clutch fan obviously, and put 5 holes in my new aluminum radiator. What will they cover? Remanufactured limited lifetime warranty. '78 chevy k10 350 sbc
The truck had the water pump installed and all parts were new besides the water pump (reman.) and it hadn't been running for 5 mins then the water pump came apart... this truck hasn't seen the road yet, it was a test drive out in the field.

I am a former O'Reilly Auto salesman. That job has been the most fun job for the two years I worked there. They are a reputable company and I would constantly recommend them.

Unfortunately, these things happen on an EXTREMELY small percentage. Rest assured that O'Reilly Auto has made it a point to get with companies to offer them the best incentives in order for them to offer you the best warranties, and O'Reilly generally offers the best warranties out there. Your pump will have the same length of warranty, new or refurb, if the same applied all the way back to 2006. In my area, the new parts are MST and the refurbished are A1-Cardone.

My suggeston, as a non-spokesperson for O'Reilly Auto:

1. KEEP ALL RECEIPTS. More proof the better.

2. KNOW YOUR BRAND NAME(s) AND NUMBER(s) as this is going to become an issue with the manufacturer and/or refurbisher. O'Reilly was the middleman. This information also includes part numbers for faster reference.

3. KEEP INFORMATION HANDY, such as your contact info.

4. (This is a bit underhanded, but..) WITHHOLD SOME INFORMATION, like the fact that your radiator was new. This might make them think that more was installed due to a possible collision. Remember: they too will be conducting an investigation on your situation.

Here is the contact information for MST and A1-Cardone:

In concurring with ART WARRINGTON, a mechanic's professional determination will speak for you. To add, make sure you take the vehicle to a well-known and respected repairshop, like the dealer.

However, it won't be O'Reilly that covers the final cost, if things work out in your favor. It will be the manufacturer of the part and O'Reilly might become your middleman again for parts. One thing is for certain: no money is going to enter into your hands. This process will go faster especially if you do not make demands for such.

In arguing your case, though, you are going to be limited since you have to secure other means of travel now if none are at your immediate grasp. Also, small claims court generally handles claims up to $1,500. This sounds like the repair will be more than that. In terms of a free claim, I have not the experience there. Keep in mind that a lawyer will not be.

If, for some reason, they require your automobile insurance information, I'm out as far as advice. For that I would, just to be safe, get with your insurance company beforehand and ask them questions. They would be a great non-biased thrid party for advice.

May I offer my condolences that you have to go through all of this..
