wiring problem fire!!!?
I overrided my cooling fans due to the previous owner chopped with the wiring. I cut into the power wire for the fans to try to connect another wire for my tachometer, after i cut it open I used electric tape to seal it back up. Could this be the reason why it started melting the wire insulation. What size wire is best used. and when i connect wire to positive battery terminal can i just touch the wire or should i get the o ring connector thing to go around the terminals bolt.
You should never try what we call steal a hot wire from another circuit on your car.Go directly to your battery and and run a wire and fuse it directly,your asking for big problems.
