Why Is My Honda Civic Making a Tiny Rattling Noise?
I have a 2000 Honda Civic that make a rattling noise whenever I accelerate. It only happens when I start hitting around 25 - 30 MPH and lasts for 2 or 3 seconds. If I stop accelerating, it goes away. It doesn't come back as long as I maintain my speed or speed up, but if I slow down and speed up again, the noise happens again for another 2 or 3 seconds.
It sounds sort of like when you drop a piece of sheet metal and it vibrates before coming to rest.
I checked the heat shield on the intake manifold and on the cat, but they don't seem to be the problem. Anyone have any ideas?
try a tank of premium fuel....and its 9 yrs old...when was last tune up? [if ever]
