Is it feasable to replace or repair a bent sub-frame on '01 Concorde, after fender bender?
I have a '01 Concorde. I hydroplaned and went up on a curb, grazing the tree before sliding onto the main street. Adjuster gave an estimate, regarding right tie rod being bent and etc. Cosmetically, the right fender is dented, right front wheel and hubcap needs replacing, and edge of my front passenger door that meets the fender needs body work. I also have part of the tree lodged up under the door there. Anyways, my friend is a mechanic at a shop and I wanted to get a real actual estimate from someone and it turns out the tie rod is fine, but the sub-frame is bent, and just the part and labor for that will eat up a majority of the claim check I got, not even counting the body work. So I need to call the adjuster and have him come look at it again because he was apparently way off. Any advice? My friend was shocked when he checked it out. So this is a bad thing? This is gonna cost an arm?
if the adjuster missed this...he needs to take a second look. Take the estimate to the insurance company. simply human error. As far as is it worth it...I'd say yes...as the insurance is paying the bulk less your deductible....it's still less than a new car...and it is a repairable item...just let the insurance company have the heads up on it and hope they act reasonably.
Good luck
