Double Basements, dig down twice as deep and make a double basement.?
is this possible to make a 2 story basment. would i need extra saport. i was thinking about using steel about 3/8 to 1 inch thick and weld a box for the deepest basement part. any tips a place that i can go to ask about this. and maybe if i can do it for a already built house, like dig it, then get sheets of steel that would fit down the door.
You should contact an architect or structural engineer.
By making the side walls higher and interior posts taller, you will need to change their dimensions (width and thickness) to prevent the posts from buckling and to assure that concrete or cinder block sidewalls and foundations can carry their own weight.
This is definitely *not* a DIY engineering project.
