I have a gas furnace in the basement. It's a Goodman GMT070-3B. I opened the top and bottom cover piece just to take a look. I realized when the circuit board light do not light up when I put back the bottom cover piece. I even manually pressed on the built in box switch(a box swtich built in/safety switch) if I called it correctly. I would say the circuit board needs to be replaced. I could find the circuit board, and replace it myself. But I am not 100% sure if that's the piece needs to be replaced. I called sears, and they have the parts. Sears said that they would not accept a return after the board had been installed. I really wonder how would they know.
Please share with me your experience/knowledge on this issue.
It should have a fuse on the control board. Check that.
Sounds like it's not getting the 24 volts from the transformer.
Do not just replace the circuit board. Usually that is not the problem and requires experience to confirm that it is the problem.
Parts cannot be warrantied through unqualified parties as they are often misdiagnosed. You wouldn't want to buy a circuit board that had been brought back to the supplier and possibly abused or mis connected and caused damage.
You didn't say what your original problem was.
The fuse blowing on the circuit board is usually caused by shorted or grounded out thermostat wiring.
