Automotive Codes - P0700 Transmission Control System Malfunction & P0855 Drive Switch Input Circuit High?
If someone has Codes PO855 & PO700 what could be wrong? What are the soultion for this problem? How much does this typically cost to fix? Would this be covered under Manufactueres warranty if the car was purchased used?
The Vehicle is a 2006 Kia Optima
There is additional question on the warranty. The car was purchased as Demo model in 2006 with 3,000 and it was confirmed with Kia that as 2nd Owner, there would be 5 Years/60,000 Miles warranty on Transmission/Powertrain. After the car was bought, came to know that it had been involved in Accident around 100 Miles. I being 2nd Owner and this scenario, would my warranty still be valid?
It would really help if you told use make, model and year. However...
"This code indicates that the EATX (Transmission controller) has an active fault and has illuminated the MIL via a BUS message. The specific fault must be acquired from the EATX via a DRBIII tool. (Input or Output Speed Sensor failures often cause this code and are a common failure part on WJ Grand Cherokees)."

P0700 "Transmissions controller has a fault" and P0650 "Internal computer error (ROM) (if it's a dodge)

Bottom line, get it to a transmission shop to be looked at.
