Ive got a 1996 Mitsu 3000gt SL. its a 6cyl, 24 valve, 3.0L non turbo engine. It has what we beleive to be a blown head gasket. We have the engine stripped down the the pistons and there is no scoring or any signs of any worse problems. We drained the oil before we started disassembling the engine and seeing that it had water or antifreeze in it, id kind of like to know a good way to flush the block out somehow. Also, for a head gasket, what type of material would be the best?

You need to drop the oil pan if you want to flush your engine out.
All engines get deposits of tar-like petroleum in them. Flush chemicals will soften this enough to fall off and circulate, which could clog an oil pickup tube and prevent oil from getting to your heads.
Think a blown head gasket is bad? A seized cam is worse.
Fill the engine as full as you can with oil, let it sit, and drain it. Then just top off, and do your first oil change after a thousand miles. That should clean everything out without causing additional problems.
