The first big U.M.P. race of the year will soon be upon us on March 7-8 at Clarcksville Speedway in Clarcksville, Tennesee. I believe that it is $5000 to win for the UMP super late models. Who do you think will win this premier dirt track event?
Will it be Billy Moyer, Jeep VanWormer, Rusty Schlenk or ???
With a purse that large, I'd look more towards some of the Lucas Oil or WoO drivers, should they show up. Don "The Real Deal" O'Neal, Scott Bloomquist, Dan Schleiper, Billy Drake, and "The Moweaqua Missle" Shannon Babb are some of my favorites. I'd look for Bloomquist and O'Neal to be towards the front, but don't count out Drake or Babb. Babb only lives 15 miles from me, and I used to watch his dad race back in the late 70's. He's also the driver for Clint Boyer's new dirt operation. Billy Drake used to race at our home track, Macon Speedway, as a regular until he decided to go with the Lucas Oil tour.
Nothing against Moyer (I was a major Moyer fan back in the Have-A-Tampa days), but he just don't seem to run up front anymore.
