Exhaust/Muffler updrades?
Im on the fence as to which muffler to put on my vehicle. It is a 2004 Z71 Tahoe 5.3L Vortec V8.
I've narrowed it down to a Flowmaster 50 series and a Magnaflow. I've heard about/read the differences in design of them both but I am really after which one sounds the best. I'm looking for a nice rumble during acceleration and a sorta mellow tone at idle and cruising speeds. But I do want to get noticed when I'm on the gas!
I'm also going to ad a cold air intake in a few weeks as well so my descision is also performance minded as well. Which one actually 'flows' better?
With whatever muffler I choose, the install will be limited to just retro fitting the muffler, not doing a dual.
Although I welcome opinions.... I REALLY want to hear from anyone who has had first hand experience with both mufflers. Thanks.
I had a flowmaster 50 series on my chevelle and it sounded nice but was too quiet for me so I went with the flowmaster super 40's and now I'm real happy, I think the 50 series is what you want according to the way you say you want your truck to sound, you can go to the flowmaster website and listen to all their mufflers.
